AB Interconnect Inc is part of the TT electronics group of companies. Originally the company traded as AB Connectors Ltd, the UK Division name and first started trading in the USA in the early 1980's.
In the early 1990's Alstom asked AB Connectors to provide their bayonet connector products for their new railway facility in Hornell, NY. The business had by now grown to a size that we needed our own factory. The Smithfield, N.C. site which was part of the AB Automotive division was chosen due to it's geographical position and the fact that all the necessary Quality controls were already in place due to their established Automotive component manufacturing skills.
On the 31st March 2008 the company had grown to a size that it became an INC and AB Interconnect Inc was born. The company now occupies all the 50,000sq ft of the original AB Automotive facility and has it's own machine shop, connector and harness assembly workshops.

The facility is ITAR compliant and has AS 9100, MIL-STD- 790, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications/approvals.

Combined with all the necessary departments of design, quality and test the Company has developed into a significant employer in the Area and has also established itself as an important supplier to the USA armed forces and the various railway markets.

With new products being introduced to enhance their product portfolio it has truly become an American Company and very proud to be accepted as such.

AB interconnect is part of the Connector Division with other companies being situated in the UK (AB Connectors and New Chapel Electronics) and China were we provide connectors into the Chinese Railway Industry from our factory in Suzhou close to Shanghai. From a UK based company we have now grown to a Global supplier ready for the challenges ahead.
